AO "ARKTIKGAZ" OIL REFINERY COMPANY is one of the largest enterprise in Russia Fedration for oil refining and production of oil.

The refinery was put into operation in 1988 and is focused on processing of oil raw materials of Siberian oil fields. The enterprise has a balanced capacity of 6,0 million tons of crude oil per year.

AO "ARKTIKGAZ"  produces a wide range of oil products. Among them motor petrol of various brands, diesel fuel, oil fuel (mazout), hydrocarbon liquefied gases, vacuum gas oil, technical sulfur, bitumen of several grades (construction, road, roofing), petroleum coke.

The structure of the refinery includes a Complex of Crude Oil Primary Distillation (LK-6U), Complex of Compounding and Oil Products Dispatch, Complex of Crude Oil Advanced Processing (a fuel complex – KT-1 for deep processing of fuel oil), Complex of Heavy Oil Residue Processing which includes the several process units such as: Delayed Coking Unit, Coke Calcination Unit, Bitumen Production Unit, Sulfur Recovery Unit, Sulfur Granulation Unit. At the refinery there are Hydrogen Production Unit and Oil Sludge Processing Unit, as well as large auxiliary units – Water Supply and Sewerage plant and Central Refinery Laboratory (CRL).

As a result of the upgrading project implementation two new complexes of process units were built and commissioned in December 2014 at the Refinery: Isomerization and Naphtha Splitter unit and Complex of Sulfur Recovery Units. The 12 new U&O facilities have been built for normal operation of constructed and brought into service units. In addition, there were revamped existing production capacities: Complex of Crude Oil Primary Distillation and Complex of Crude Oil Advanced Processing, as well as Delayed Coking Unit. All these measures ensured the production of K-4 motor fuels: diesel and gasoline of RON-92, 95 in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 013/2011.

The enterprise has well-developed Utilities & Offsite facilities: commodity and raw feed tank farms, liquefied gases tank farm, loading and unloading racks for oil products transportation by rail and road transport.

The refinery conducts an active social policy; all necessary conditions are created for labor, life and health of employees.

The priority for AO "ARKTIKGAZ"  today is to ensure the production of motor fuels corresponding to the ecological classes K4, K5, in the amount necessary for the country’s needs, increase technical resource of the refinery, its output for a three-year inter-repair cycle, production of Jet A jet fuel of international standard which is new for the refinery.

With a crude oil refining capacity of approximately 2.9 million barrels per calendar day in our 13-refinery system, AO "ARKTIKGAZ"  plays a significant role providing refined products that you use every day.

Our refineries are integrated with each other via pipelines, terminals and barges to maximize operating efficiency. The transportation links that connect our refineries allow the movement of intermediate products between refineries to optimize operations, produce higher margin products and efficiently utilize our processing capacity.

PRODUCTS

The Refinery is designed for oil refining in fuel profile and it is processing it using the following processes:

  • Electrodehydration and desalting of crude oil;
  • Primary crude oil distillation;
  • Hydrotreating of naphtha, kerosene, diesel fuel, and vacuum gasoil;
  • Catalytic reforming;
  • Catalytic cracking;
  • Naphtha splitter;
  • Isomerization;
  • Gas fractionation;
  • Production of petroleum bitumen;
  • Production of coke;
  • Production of sulfur.

Design capacity of AO "ARKTIKGAZ"  Oil Chemistry Refinery is 6 mln. tons a year. The main technology process for primary crude oil distillation is carried out at the complex of LK-6u, which advantage is the complete cycle of processing and a set of the following units:

  • С-100 - Electrodehydration and desalting, and atmospheric distillation of crude oil;
  • С-200/1- Naphtha hydrotreating;
  • С-200/2 – Catalytic reforming;
  • С-300/1 – Diesel fuel hydrotreating;
  • С-300/2 – Kerosene hydrotreating;
  • С-400 – Gas fractionation.

For extending of crude oil processing depth the unique complex KT-1 for oil residue deep processing has been launched for the first time in the CIS countries. It consists of:

  • С-001 – Vacuum distillation of oil residue;
  • С-100 – Vacuum gasoil hydrotreating;
  • С-200 – Catalytic cracking;
  • С-300 - Absorption and gas fractionation;
  • С-400 – Flue gas waste-heat recovery.

For processing heavy crude oil residues the following units are functioning at the refinery:

Bitumen production unit (consisting of the block of vacuum distillation of fuel oil and the block of oxidizing columns;

Delayed coking unit, designed for petroleum coke production, it includes the rectification block, the reactor block and steam generation section.

During modernization of the refinery a new combined unit of Sulfur production has been built, designed for regeneration of water solution of methyldiethanolamine and recovery of sulfur.

Also, within the limits of modernization, to produce motor gasoline meeting the quality standard corresponding to class К-4 there are the following units built in the refinery:

Naphtha splitter unit;

Light naphtha isomerization unit.

The plant central laboratory with modern equipment carries out the quality control of output goods and it includes the following subdivisions:

Output control laboratory;

Process monitoring laboratory;

Sanitary laboratory;

Research laboratory.

To produce high quality competitive products that meet the requirements of domestic and international standards, meet the requirements and expectations of consumers, applicable requirements of other parties concerned.

To expand export opportunities and master new promising areas of activity, attract new customers, strengthen the reputation of a reliable supplier of high-quality products.

To ensure a sustainable financial and economic position of the Company through the rational use of resources, reduction of production costs, and expansion of sales markets.
